what is a linear equation?

Hey guys ,I was wondering if someone could help me with what is a linear equation?? I have a major assignment to complete in a couple of weeks and for that I need a good understanding of problem solving in topics such as inequalities, rational equations and scientific notation. I can’t start my project until I have a clear understanding of what is a linear equation? since most of the calculations involved will be directly related to it in some form or the other. I have a question set , which if somebody could help me solve, would help me a lot.

You might want to take a look at Algebrator. I bought it some time back to help me with my Intermediate algebra course and I can say that it was a good choice . There are so many examples given which you can go through. You can also try out the questions related to rational inequalities and ratios by just typing them in. Algebrator provides complete description to the problems which helps to make difficult concepts very clear. I would say that this program is absolutely the best that money can buy.

I didn’t know that Algebrator program yet but I heard from my peers that it really does help in answering math problems. Since then, I noticed that my classmates don’t really have troubles solving some of the problems in class. It might really have been efficient in improving their solving abilities in math . I am eager to use it someday because I think it can be very useful and help me have a good grade in math .
