how do you find y intercept

Hello , I may sound really dumb to all the math gurus here, but it’s been a long time since I am learning how do you find y intercept, but I never found it appealing . In fact I always commit errors . I practise quite often , but still my marks do not seem to be improving.

I have used a number of programs to come to grip with my problems with rational expressions, difference of squares and adding numerators. Of them, my experience with Algebrator has been the finest. All I needed to do was to just key in the problem. Punch the solve key. The response came into view almost instantly with an easy to understand steps indicating how to arrive at the answer. I remember having difficulties with percentages, slope and scientific notation. Algebrator is a really great piece of algebra software. I have used it through several math classes - College Algebra, Pre Algebra and College Algebra. I would simply type in the problem from a workbook and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
